Iraqi Migs in Yugoslavia

These Migs planes arrived in Zagreb (Croatia, former SFR Yugoslavia) at the end of 1989 in order to be repaired. With the beginning of the war in Croatia 1991, during the withdrawal of Yugoslav air forces from Croatia, these plains were transported to Moma Stanojlovic institute in Belgrade.
Due to war and sanctions in Iraqi it was impossible to get the plains back to Iraqi. Mig-23 and four Migs-21 bis have been in Yugoslavia for almost nine years and they cannot fly. The future of these planes is uncertain.

Text in the December `89 issue of the "The Airforce" magazine in the tendentious way speaks that there is a close relation between Iraqi and Yugoslavia airforces, which is far from truth.
